We believe that as artists, we need to share our gifts with the communities that surround us. Our studio has unique dual goals to facilitate the growth of both strong dancers as well as community leaders. Each year, our dancers host annual events that bring people together in celebration of the arts.
Each year around Valentine’s Day, our companies perform at a number of retirement homes within the Chicago and Northshore communities. Following the performance, students hand out Valentine’s Day cards that they made for each individual at the homes./p>
DMA hosts an annual performance that brings together dancers and community members to raise money for Misericordia, a local home to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
Each year, performance company members host a fashion show that raises money for a local charity. Additionally, this partnership with a local designer gives dancers the opportunity to learn another aspect of the Commercial Entertainment Industry.
The Honor Project is a collaboration of the Trifecta Dance Collective and Operation Support Our Troops. The goal of the event is to support the Operation’s work to provide comfort, resources and education to members of the American Armed Forces and their families, both during and after active duty. The Honor Project event consists of a historical presentation about the Glen, performance by Dance and Music Academy Youth, and a donation acceptance in place of ticket sales for the performance.
